Parents in our Facebook group ask for recommendations every day and one of the most popular questions is…
Q: Where is the warmest swimming pool in Milton Keynes, please?
Mum to Mum members are always on hand to help and here are their Top 5 ‘warmest’ swimming pools in or near MK.

1. Wolverton Pool: Wolverton Swimming & Fitness Centre Addington Avenue Wolverton, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK12 5GH

“We found Wolverton pool to be the warmest”

2. Swan Pool & Leisure Centre: London Rd, Buckingham MK18 1AE

“TheSwan Pool in Buckingham is brilliant. The baby pool is lovely and warm, and the changing rooms have recently been refurbished, so it’s clean and modern too. We’ve found it’s usually pretty quiet during the week.”

3. Middleton Pool and Fitness Centre: Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell MK16 9BG

Middleton pool (Newport Pagnell) has a completely separate shallow pool, so toddlers can’t accidentally wander too far or get into a deep area.”

4. Trilogy Health & Fitness at Danes Camp Leisure Centre: Clannell Rd, Northampton NN4 0RX

“We’ve tried Wolverton and Bedford Oasis but went to Danes Camp in Northampton for the first time yesterday and it was great! Warm, clean, numbers limited by wristbands and loads to do. It’s got a’ beach entry ‘ so v shallow to begin with and loads to keep our 2 yr old entertained (he gets cold v quickly and had no complaints) but gets as deep as a normal pool so our 4 yr old could have a proper swim. Really enjoyed it.”

5. Hotel Novotel Milton Keynes: Saxon St, Heelands, Milton Keynes MK13 7RA

Novotel in Heelands is almost as warm as bath water. Usually quiet too.”

Mum to Mum Question: Baby and toddler swimming – how old, and where? @ Ask Mum

Answer: This is the advice on when to take your baby swimming for the first time, from the website NHS Choices:

“You can take your baby swimming at any age, both before and after they have been vaccinated. It doesn’t matter if they haven’t yet completed their course of vaccinations. Babies sometimes experience side effects after vaccination. These are generally quite mild and shouldn’t stop you taking your baby swimming.”
